Healthcare M&A activity is only going to pick up, according to Forbes. The risks and benefits are debatable, but once two organizations decide to merge, there is the task of implementing the merger. Ideally, the merging of two organizations should create a new organization that is stronger and more competitive.
A merger needs to be successful the first time. Mergers are a different type of project primarily because the entire organization is relying on the it to be a success. A M&A implementation also encompasses all the departments of a organization and requires a focus on success not normally seen with a regular project.
